Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical escalation point for Level 2 engineers and assist in resolving complex network and satellite connectivity issues.
- Design, implement, and optimize WAN, LAN, and satellite communication networks, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Configure and manage routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and satellite-based networking solutions.
- Work with network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and QoS to enhance network efficiency.
- Conduct network performance analysis, capacity planning, and security assessments.
- Develop and implement network automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to integrate new network technologies and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with network security best practices and implement firewall and intrusion detection policies.
- Document network designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably in a Level 3 or senior role.
- Strong expertise in TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and SD-WAN.
- Experience working with enterprise-grade satellite communication networks (LEO/GEO) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing networking hardware from Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Mikrotik.
- Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and network automation tools (Ansible, Python, or Terraform) is a plus.
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent are preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-availability environments.
