Network Engineer - IT Consultancy

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer with expertise in Cisco Wireless and Unified Communications (UC) for a freelance contract role. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Cisco wireless networks and UC solutions for our client, who is a large European-based IT Consultancy. 

This role involves hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, and optimisation to ensure seamless communication and connectivity across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy Cisco Wireless LAN (WLAN) infrastructure, including access points and controllers.
• Configure and manage Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and related components.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, especially those related to wireless connectivity and UC systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for smooth integration of wireless and UC solutions.
• Conduct regular audits and upgrades of Cisco wireless and UC environments.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users.

Skills/Must have:

• Cisco Wireless Technologies: Extensive experience with Cisco Access Points, Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC), and Cisco Prime Infrastructure.
• Cisco Unified Communications: Strong knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and related components.
• Network Troubleshooting: Proficiency in troubleshooting network performance issues, especially for wireless and voice/video communication systems.
• Network Security: Experience with network security best practices related to wireless and UC environments.
• Certifications: Cisco certifications such as CCNA Wireless, CCNP Wireless, or CCNP Collaboration (highly desirable).
