Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 2nd line support in a calm, professional, and customer-focused manner, ensuring adherence to agreed service levels.
  • Manage and resolve technical incidents and service requests, escalating when necessary and keeping stakeholders informed throughout.
  • Implement and test software updates, system changes, and upgrades in a controlled environment before live rollout.
  • Support and maintain application portfolios, deploying approved software and hardware while following security protocols.
  • Contribute to release planning, testing, and delivery of software and service improvements.
  • Develop and maintain clear technical documentation and knowledge base content to support cross-team resilience.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders and third-party vendors to resolve incidents efficiently.
  • Help maintain accurate asset and configuration records in line with ICT procedures.


Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proven 1st or 2nd line support experience within a Windows environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and service targets in a high-demand setting.
  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent telephone manner.
  • A team player with flexibility, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Solid documentation, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
  • Professional, adaptable, and capable of working under pressure.


Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering improved functionality to business systems.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Remote Desktop, Registry Editor, PowerShell scripting, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with controlled change processes.
  • Experience working with Windows Server, virtualised environments, and deployment automation tools (e.g. PDQ, SCCM, Intune).


Additional Information:

  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo local and national security vetting.
  • Travel to various locations within Gloucestershire may be required.
  • Flexibility around core working hours is essential. You may be asked to participate in an on-call rota to provide 24/7 support.
  • Ongoing training and development will be provided to maintain and enhance your technical capabilities.


Location:

  • Gloucester, 1x Per Week (with occasional county-wide travel)


Salary:

  • £35,500 Per Annum
