Are you an experienced Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer eager to work on an exciting project for a market-leading energy provider? This role focuses on managing and optimizing their Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment, leveraging your Terraform expertise to ensure seamless operations and scalability.
As an Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer, you will be responsible for configuring, deploying, and supporting AVD, ensuring optimal performance and security. Your role will involve day-to-day management of end-user desktop environments, delivering applications, configuring user settings, and automating tasks through PowerShell.
The role is open on a 6-month contract with a strong view for extension, working hybrid with three days per week in Wokingham.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize the Azure Virtual Desktop environment, including host pools, AVD images, and scaling.
- Utilize Terraform for daily operations, automating Azure infrastructure as code.
- Perform capacity planning in coordination with AVD Architecture & Engineering teams.
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements for Azure AVD configurations.
- Manage AVD application publishing, web server load balancing, and Resource Manager configurations.
Skills/Must have:
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, including deployment, configuration, and operational support.
- Proficient in Terraform, with a focus on automating Azure infrastructure as code.
- Expertise in PowerShell Scripting for automation tasks.
- Azure Certifications are nice to have.
- VMware experience is nice to have.
