The team is hiring a Broadcast Systems Support Engineer to play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising broadcast and IT systems. This position involves supporting critical live operations, ensuring system reliability, and working alongside highly skilled engineers to deliver smooth, uninterrupted broadcasting.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve faults on nonlinear studio and field broadcast systems.
  • Provide comprehensive support for content ingest, editing, production asset management, and integration with other production systems.
  • Configure and maintain system, PC, and server settings.
  • Support studio facilities, including cameras, sound, and distribution equipment.
  • Liaise confidently and effectively with manufacturers to minimize service disruption and ensure timely repairs.
  • Collect and analyse system logs, escalating issues to appropriate personnel or manufacturers as needed.
  • Report major issues clearly and concisely in overnight handovers to Technology and business stakeholders.
  • Develop strong working relationships with technical and editorial operators to facilitate efficient fault diagnosis.
  • Collaborate with product specialists on system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Manage the return of faulty equipment to manufacturers.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal spare parts levels in the support store.
  • Work flexibly as part of a shift rota to ensure continuous support coverage.


Skills/Must have:

  • Some broadcast engineering/ systems engineering experience.
  • Broadcast qualification to degree level.
  • Support Experience as a whole.
  • Large scale systems - AVID inews in particular
  • IP Networking experience
  • SMPTE 2110 protocol experience
  • EVS Cerebrum Router Control
  • Studio equipment - vision mixers (grass valley ideally)
  • Understanding of how a broadcast chain fits together in an environment - gallery's vision mixer, mcr, cameras and sound


Salary:

  • £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
