A global IT services, consulting, and business solutions company has partnered with a leading financial services organisation to hire an experienced Data Architect for a 6-month contract.
In this role, you’ll design and implement enterprise-scale Data Lake solutions, define architectural standards, and guide best practices across large-scale digital transformation programmes. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance data systems that align with business objectives. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week on-site in Central London.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop enterprise-grade data architecture frameworks supporting Data Lakes and Big Data platforms
- Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for robust, scalable storage solutions
- Define and maintain the overall structure of data flows and models across multiple platforms
- Oversee integration of diverse data sources into unified and secure data architectures
- Establish data governance, standards, and security measures ensuring compliance (eg GDPR, CCPA)
- Design and implement automated data pipelines across internal and external systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, analytics, business) to align technical architecture with business goals
- Produce comprehensive documentation of models, frameworks, and governance procedures
Skills/Must have:
- Proven track record in enterprise data architecture
- Strong background in Data Lakes, cloud-based data warehousing (eg Snowflake), and Big Data environments
- Proven success delivering scalable data architecture solutions across complex programmes
- Deep understanding of metadata management and advanced data modelling practices
- Experience with various modelling methodologies (3NF, Dimensional, Data Vault)
- Ability to translate business requirements into long-term architectural strategies
- Practical knowledge of regulatory compliance and data governance frameworks
- Hands-on experience working in financial services or similar data-intensive sectors
- Experience using ServiceNow is desirable.
