The team is seeking a Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to join their expanding team and help ensure the continued reliability and performance across their clients network infrastructure in Kentucky.

Responsibilities:

  • Splice various types and sizes of fiber optic cable, including single mode, multimode, stranded, and ribbon
  • Analyze and troubleshoot basic technical problems or issues related to fiber optic infrastructure
  • Review, interpret, and work with various maps, drawings, blueprints, and testing documents
  • Perform daily tests, checks, and maintenance of splicing and testing equipment
  • Conduct optical continuity and conformance testing to ensure network integrity
  • Make splicing rearrangements on existing facilities in buried, underground, aerial, and building work locations


Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of various fusion splicing and optical testing equipment, including EXFO, Fitel, and Sumitomo
  • Familiarity with fiber optic cable types, color codes, and environments (e.g., Multi-mode, Single-mode, CAT 3, CAT 5, Riser, Plenum)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Utility pole/manhole awareness, bucket truck training, and confined space training preferred
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and meet company minimum driving standards
