Key Responsibilities:
- Splice fiber optic cables, including mid-sheath and loose tube fusions, and construct proper splice cases.
- Troubleshoot and test fiber using OTDR and red light, ensuring clean installs and quick issue resolution.
- Help lead and mentor a splicing laborer, passing on technical knowledge in a collaborative team.
- Ensure site safety, follow vehicle inspection routines, and complete daily job and audit sheets.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in fiber splicing (drop cable to 432 count)
- Understanding of fiber color code and splicing terminology
- Ability to read and follow fiber engineering documents
- Willingness to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and outdoors
