Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and perform splicing on a range of fiber cable types, including OSP, ADSS, and OPGW
  • Carry out testing and verification of fiber optic network infrastructure
  • Utilize tools such as OTDRs, power meters, and fiber identifiers to conduct performance assessments
  • Identify and resolve faults or performance issues within the network
  • Install equipment in accordance with project specifications and scope of work
  • Comply with all safety guidelines and adheres to established company protocols
  • Maintain a collaborative, team-oriented attitude in all work environments
  • Complete Daily Performance Reports (DPRs) accurately and in a timely manner
  • Available to respond to after-hours or on-call service needs as required


Skills/Must have:

  • Experienced in working with a wide range of fiber optic splice closures and termination hardware
  • Ability to accurately distinguish between various wire and cable colors
  • Up to one year of experience, or equivalent training, in fiber optic fusion splicing and testing within an Outside Plant environment
  • Foundational understanding of fiber optic cable types, construction, and proper handling is beneficial
  • Basic familiarity with electrical systems is considered an advantage
  • Demonstrates a strong focus on accuracy and detail
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills
  • Proficient with computers and comfortable using Microsoft Office applications
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background
  • Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • Required to carry and maintain valid personal auto insurance
