Our client is a nationally recognized multi-utility partner with a proven track record spanning several decades. With operations across the country, they support an extensive portfolio of clients and generate an annual revenue exceeding $700 million.

Following a series of new contract wins in Ohio, they are seeking a Fiber Splicing Assistant to join their expanding team and help ensure the continued reliability and performance of their network infrastructure.

This is an entry-level role with a clear path to becoming a Lead Splicer within 8-12 months for motivated individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist experienced fiber technicians and splicers with daily installation and maintenance tasks
  • Help handle, organise, and transport fiber optic cables and related equipment
  • Support basic testing and equipment setup under supervision
  • Follow maps, drawings, and work instructions to assist with installations
  • Perform routine checks on tools, splicing, and testing equipment
  • Work on underground, aerial, and building installations under guidance

Skills/Must have:

  • Interest in learning fiber optic splicing and telecommunications installation
  • Basic understanding of fiber optic cable types and environments is a plus, but not required
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and hit targets
  • Ability to work safely around utility poles, manholes, and in various field conditions
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to grow into a technical role
  • Valid driver’s license
