We are partnered with a global leader in intelligent transportation and infrastructure technology, delivering integrated systems that power some of the world’s most complex urban transit networks. The organisation specialises in advanced transport management, payment systems, traffic control and critical infrastructure solutions, supporting major cities and public transport authorities worldwide.

Due to internal promotion and team restructure, they are now seeking a Field Services Team Leader to oversee maintenance and operational delivery across TfL's highway and tunnel infrastructure.

This is a hands-on leadership role within a live, safety-critical environment, ideal for someone with a strong technical background who leads from the front and thrives in operational settings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of 3 field maintenance engineers/technicians
  • Take ownership of TfL tunnel and highway infrastructure performance
  • Act as the escalation point for technical faults and operational incidents
  • Deliver planned and reactive maintenance within strict safety frameworks
  • Liaise with senior engineers, stakeholders and operational control teams
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and to required standards
  • Maintain compliance within a highly regulated transport environment
  • Operate within a rotating 4 on / 4 off days and nights shift pattern

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong technical background (electrical, mechanical, fibre, copper systems)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a technical/engineering role
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a small technical team
  • Comfortable working in tunnel, roadside or confined environments
  • Experience managing faults within live operational infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures in critical environments

Desirable:

  • Experience within highways, road technology or tunnel infrastructure
  • Exposure to National Highways or similar transport authorities
  • Signals or ex-military engineering background

Technical Exposure May Include:

  • Road and tunnel technology systems
  • Road signals and signage infrastructure
  • Fibre and interconnecting cabling
  • Electrical, mechanical and hybrid infrastructure systems
