Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs:
- Troubleshoot and repair company vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain safe functionality and meet DOT standards
- Overhaul and replace components on a wide range of construction machinery
- Identify and assess equipment issues caused by excessive wear, providing practical repair recommendations
- Address DVIR-reported faults in collaboration with Fleet Supervisors
- Suggest maintenance or repairs that may need external vendor assistance
Emergency Response:
- Attend to urgent, offsite repair needs, which may occasionally require after-hours availability
- Help maintain fleet readiness and response capabilities in line with ERS contract requirements to ensure operational status
Inspections & Reporting:
- Carry out ANSI-compliant inspections on aerial lift equipment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including service records and repair logs
- Provide regular updates to supervisors and team members regarding completed and ongoing tasks
Equipment Operation:
- Aerial lifts
- Derricks
- Mini-excavators
- Hydraulic-driven equipment
- Generators
- Use portable vehicle lifting tools in a safe and efficient manner
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic is essential
- Strong background in operating, maintaining, and repairing construction equipment is required
- Possession of a state inspection certification is advantageous
- Familiarity with mobile generators is beneficial
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
- CDL Class A license is preferred
- Must meet CDL medical qualification standards
- Competence with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills is expected
