ICT Network Engineer - Telecommunications

The team is hiring an ICT Network Engineer to join a dynamic Rome-based group supporting large-scale digital transformation initiatives. With a longstanding reputation for delivering advanced ICT and security systems across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, the team leads major deployments in sectors ranging from defence and aviation to government and critical infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of enterprise-level infrastructure design and implementation, including hands-on work with the latest in data centre and virtualisation technologies. International travel and long-term overseas assignments such as to Brunei form a key part of the experience.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement ICT infrastructure, including Cisco-based LAN/WAN, servers, and software-defined solutions
• Configure, support, and maintain VMware virtualised environments, including HA setups
• Create detailed documentation: migration plans, implementation guides, requirements, and change records
• Work closely with data centre technologies and security infrastructures
• Support Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, OU structure, AD replication, and hardening
• Apply fundamental networking knowledge to ensure optimal performance and resilience
• Use PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and maintain configurations
• Deliver enterprise-scale implementation plans and technical deliverables
• Ensure precision and reliability in every technical detail to avoid misconfigurations, bugs, and vulnerabilities

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Cisco LAN/WAN infrastructure
• Proven expertise in VMware virtualisation and Active Directory
• Solid background in configuration, support, and administration of enterprise IT systems
• Excellent understanding of networking fundamentals and server technologies
• At least 2 years' professional experience in a similar role
• Experience with datacentre technologies, SDN (Software Defined Networking), and infrastructure design

Salary:

• €35,000 – €40,000 per year (depending on experience)
