Mainframe Support Engineer - Banking & Finance

We are partnered with the largest stock exchange group in Europe and one of the largest in the world through the merger of the Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, and Lisbon stock exchanges.  Over the years, it has expanded further through acquisitions, but has since become an independent entity again.

We are currently seeking a talented Mainframe Support Engineer to join their team in Porto. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the success of our clients' IT infrastructure.

Duration: 6 Months 

Day rate: €150PD - €185PD 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive IT support, specializing in IBM Mainframe systems.
• Offer system and application support, ensuring the smooth operation of critical business processes.
• Monitor Mainframe performance and proactively address any issues to maintain optimal efficiency.
• Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions and enhance system reliability.
• AWS experience is a plus, though not required

Requirement:

• Proven experience in providing IT support, with a focus on Mainframe systems.
• In-depth knowledge of IBM Mainframe technologies and associated software.
• Ability to monitor system performance and respond to alerts in a timely manner.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Familiarity with AWS services is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
