Network Engineer - Managed Service Provider

We are working with a leading managed service provider based in Houston, Texas, specializing in delivering innovative IT solutions tailored to the unique needs of the oil and gas industry.  Their team is dedicated to providing exceptional service and expertise to our clients, ensuring their networks are secure, efficient, and reliable.

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer with expertise in Fortinet, Aruba, and Cisco technologies to join them. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures, with a focus on delivering superior solutions for our oil and gas clients.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support network infrastructure solutions for our clients in the oil and gas industry, utilizing Fortinet, Aruba, and Cisco technologies.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and develop tailored network solutions to meet their needs.
• Configure and optimize network devices, including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points, to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Conduct network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance network reliability and security.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians, serving as a subject matter expert in Fortinet, Aruba, and Cisco technologies.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on our clients' network environments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on Fortinet, Aruba, and Cisco technologies.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, Aruba wireless solutions, and Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, etc.).
• Experience with network security best practices, including firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention, and network segmentation.
• Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, Fortinet NSE, or Aruba ACSP/ACMP are highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience working in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
