We are partnered with a prominent retailer operating a vast network of gas stations and convenience stores across the United States. With a strong focus on customer convenience, the company primarily serves customers located near Walmart stores. Their offerings include a wide range of fuel options and essential everyday items, making them a popular choice for on-the-go consumers.   

 They are now seeking a Network Engineer to oversee the planning, setup, and maintenance of the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), voice (VoIP), and Internet systems. 

Responsibilities include managing network hardware and software, ensuring network availability through monitoring, conducting maintenance to enhance reliability and performance, and coordinating efforts to implement network security measures.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure network stability through capacity planning, regular maintenance, tuning, and upgrades.
  • Continuously monitor network performance to maintain consistent user experience and system functionality.
  • Address complex or widespread network issues and outages, coordinating escalations to hardware, software, and service vendors as necessary.
  • Develop, assess, test, and deploy changes in network architecture, security, or monitoring aligned with industry trends and business needs.
  • Establish and document standards and best practices for network hardware, software, security protocols, monitoring, and management.
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Skills/Must have:

  • Cisco Route & Switch experience along with some firewall experience. Skills in comprehending and interpreting documents such as policy manuals, safety regulations, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
  • Proficiency in preparing routine reports and correspondence. Effective communication abilities to convey information and address inquiries in face-to-face and small group settings with customers, clients, the general public, and colleagues. 
  • Capability to comprehend and analyze scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Proficiency in handling complex inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory bodies, or business stakeholders.

  • $100,000 -$125,000 + Bonus
