Responsibilities:

• Configure routers/switches, troubleshoot, and operationalize the design.
• Monitoring & documentation through NOC dashboards, SNMP/NetFlow, detailed runbooks, and network diagrams.
• Work effectively across city departments (Public Safety, Public Works, Schools, Libraries) and external providers.
• Design scalable, redundant ISP-grade networks across core, distribution, and edge layers.

Skills/Must have:

• Cisco IOS-XR, Palo Alto NGFW, Infoblox, Nutanix, or comparable platforms.
• Ability to design, configure, and maintain BGP routing across multiple peers, including route reflection, policy controls, and failover scenarios. Advanced knowledge on design and configuration of the routing protocol BGP is not negotiable
• Knowledge of securing BGP sessions (MD5 authentication, prefix filtering, RPKI), firewall integration, and DDoS mitigation.
• OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VPNs, QoS, IPv4/IPv6 management, peering agreements, DNS/DHCP/IPAM.

Salary:

• $100 per hour
