We are partnered with a pioneering leader in the satellite communications industry as they embark on a massive phase of infrastructure growth. This isn’t just a maintenance role; our client is currently building brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing and test facilities in Luxembourg from the ground up.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Payload Test Engineer who is ready to step away from rigid corporate structures and into a dynamic, high-growth environment where they can truly "own" the testing process. This is an ideal move for a motivated engineer who thrives on autonomy and wants to be at the heart of the next generation of satellite technology.

By joining this team, you will secure a career path that offers rapid progression from hands-on testing into test strategy definition and system architecture, working directly alongside the Payload Architect. You will also enjoy significant global exposure, with frequent travel to Los Angeles for satellite integration and to world-renowned launch sites, to see your work reach orbit. Finally, you will be part of a "greenfield" project in Luxembourg, giving you the unique opportunity to help shape the technical culture and operational standards of a premier satellite facility from day one.

If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, get in touch and apply today!

Responsibilities:

  • Execute hands-on payload testing and verification within a high-tech lab environment in Luxembourg.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during the test phase to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Travel internationally (approx. every 2 months) to Los Angeles and various launch sites to oversee physical satellite integration (AIT).
  • Collaborate closely with the Payload Architect to define hardware interfaces and long-term test strategies.
  • Drive the implementation of test automation and scripting to improve the efficiency and reliability of test cycles.

Skills/Must have:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of practical experience in a test engineering role, ideally within RF, Satcom, or Aerospace.
  • Absolute proficiency with standard lab test equipment and a proven ability to troubleshoot hardware independently.
  • A stable professional background (demonstrating at least 1+ years in previous roles) with a mindset geared toward long-term mastery.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) to facilitate collaboration with international partners in the US and Europe.
  • Eligibility for security clearance and a willingness to travel internationally for several weeks at a time during integration phases.
  • While having a degree is beneficial, practical, hands-on lab experience and problem-solving skills are prioritized over academic credentials.

Benefits:

  • Opportunity to work on high-profile missions with partners like SpaceX.
  • Significant career growth potential into Systems Engineering or Test Definition.
  • Relocation and support for a full-time, on-site role in the heart of Europe (Luxembourg).
  • Exposure to cutting-edge ECSS standards and SPA-grade electrical interfaces.
  • A dynamic, fast-paced alternative to traditional "Big Aero" corporate environments.

Salary:

  • €90,000 – €110,000+ Per Annum (Highly dependent on seniority)
