RF Engineer – Satellite Communications

A specialist in advanced RF subsystems for satellite and defence applications is currently seeking an RF Engineer to join its growing team in Santander, Spain. This role focuses on the design and development of X-band and Ka-band systems, covering everything from PCB layout and EM/thermal simulations to 2D/3D mechanical drawings. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on RF design experience in the satellite or defence sector, and a desire for long-term growth within an innovative and collaborative environment. This is a hybrid role with two remote workdays per week—relocation to Santander is required and supported.

Responsibilities:

• RF design for satellite communications (X-band & Ka-band).
• Work on PCB design, EM & thermal simulations, and mechanical drawings.
• Develop RF solutions for space and defence applications.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of RF, software, and mechanical engineers.

Skills / Must Have:

• 4+ years' experience in RF design for satellite or defence applications.
• Expertise in high-frequency RF design (X-band & Ka-band).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning and innovation.
• EU or UK citizenship required (due to project restrictions).

Nice to Have:

• RAMS background – Experience with DO standards and aircraft requirements.
• RF experience on space platforms.

Salary & Benefits:

• €30,000–€55,000, with flexibility up to €60,000 for highly experienced candidates.
