Senior IP Broadcast Engineer - Broadcasting

A leading broadcast organisation in Dublin is seeking an experienced Senior Broadcast Engineer to step into a pivotal “number two” role within their engineering team, with a clear progression path toward becoming Head of Engineering as part of long-term succession planning. As the company transitions from traditional SDI to a hybrid IP infrastructure, they are looking for someone eager to take on more responsibility, contribute to high-level technical design, and play a key role in shaping the future of their broadcast operations. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, contribute to R&D and solution architecture, and gain exposure to major industry events such as IBC, offering strong progression, visibility and influence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1st and 2nd line engineering support across video, audio, and streaming environments
• Manage upgrades, kit replacement, and infrastructure improvements including archive system refreshes
• Support live transmission operations and ensure technical continuity
• Contribute to design and implementation of new hybrid IP solutions
• Work closely with senior management on technical strategy and solution design
• Assist in team leadership and gradually take on increased responsibility with a view to stepping into the Head of Engineering role over time

Skills/Must have:

• Strong digital video and digital audio engineering experience
• Proven IP broadcast knowledge, including ST 2110
• 10+ years’ experience in the broadcast industry
• Desire and capability to step into a leadership role
• Full clean driving licence

Nice to have:

• Software development background or exposure to broadcast-related coding
• Operational broadcast experience
• Experience with NDI, Dante, or relevant certifications
