Senior Network Consultant - Consultancy

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Consultant to join our team for a critical migration programme. The successful candidate will be an expert in network infrastructure, particularly in Routing & Switching, and will have hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper technologies. 

This is a contract position requiring occasional on-site presence in Berlin or Leipzig, with the flexibility to work remotely for the majority of the contract period.

Contract Details:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 6 Months
• Location: 2/3 days per month in Berlin or Leipzig; remainder remote
• Day Rate: €500PD - €575PD

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute network migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Design, implement, and manage complex routing and switching environments.
• Configure and optimize network equipment, including Cisco ASR, Catalyst, and Nexus series.
• Manage Juniper EX/MX series switches and routers.
• Implement and maintain firewall solutions to ensure network security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network solutions with business requirements.
• Document network configurations, changes, and processes for future reference.

Technical Expertise:

• Routing & Switching: Expert knowledge of Cisco ASR, Catalyst, and Nexus; Juniper EX/MX.
• Firewalls: Proven experience in configuring and managing firewall solutions.
• Protocols: In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, Layer 2, and Layer 3 protocols.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE) are highly desirable.
