Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, optimisation, and automation of scalable data centre networks.
- Develop advanced tools and frameworks for network automation and provisioning.
- Research, evaluate, and drive adoption of new technologies to enhance network performance, reliability, and security.
- Act as a senior technical partner for other DevOps teams (Kubernetes, Storage, Compute) to ensure seamless integration across infrastructure layers.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for critical network issues.
- Participate in and contribute to the improvement of the on-call rotation for mission-critical environments.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team’s technical roadmap.
Skills/Must have:
- Extensive experience with Linux systems in production environments.
- Proven expertise in network automation/development, including strong Python, Bash, iptables, tcpdump, and git skills.
- Deep practical knowledge of Juniper devices (EX, QFX, MX, SRX) and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and related technologies.
- Experience working in large-scale, high-availability network environments.
Nice-to-Have:
- Practical experience with infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Salt, Terraform) and network APIs (RESTCONF, NETCONF).
- Knowledge of virtualised and cloud-native environments (VMWare, OpenStack, Kubernetes) and underlying components (KVM, Open vSwitch, Linux bridges).
- Solid understanding of software engineering practices for automating infrastructure at scale.
