Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical conversations, translating business requirements into optical network solutions.
  • Provide vendor-neutral guidance to identify the best fit for customer needs.
  • Design and plan optical networks, including architecture, link budgets, and component selection.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to craft winning, technically sound proposals.
  • Participate in customer meetings and deliver engaging product demos.
  • Support pricing, proposals, and statements of work (SOW).
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging optical technologies.
  • Provide occasional lab support and hands-on equipment configuration.


Skills/Must have:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in optical networking, ideally in a vendor environment.
  • Strong background supporting or selling OEM optical/networking products.
  • Confident leader who can control and influence stakeholder discussions.
  • Deep knowledge of optical fiber principles, optical network design, and optical components (lasers, WDM, photodetectors, etc.).
  • Expertise in Layer 1 protocols (e.g., DWDM, SONET/SDH, ROADM).
  • Working knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, EVPN).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, telecommunications, or computer science—or equivalent experience.

Salary:

  • Base salary of $140,000 
  • Up to 40% bonus based on company performance.
