Join a global systems integrator and IT consulting firm with a strong presence across India, the USA, Canada, UK, Singapore, Australia, Greece, and the Philippines. The team is seeking an experienced System Engineer to join their operations in Singapore, supporting enterprise clients across the region with robust infrastructure services. You’ll work as part of a skilled and collaborative engineering team within a fast-paced systems integrator environment, delivering end-to-end support and infrastructure solutions across on-prem and cloud-based platforms.
In this role, you’ll handle escalated issues, support deployments, and contribute to infrastructure modernization projects involving Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, and backup systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2 support for Windows/Linux servers, storage, and virtualization environments.
- Perform routine server administration tasks such as patching, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Handle basic networking tasks including IP addressing, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, and port configurations.
- Manage and maintain virtual infrastructure (VMware/Hyper-V), including VM provisioning, migration, and snapshots.
- Monitor storage usage and performance, and assist in basic SAN/NAS operations.
- Escalate unresolved issues to L3/System Architects and follow through on resolution.
- Collaborate with IT teams for system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
- Respond to system alerts and take appropriate actions to ensure high availability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in system administration (Windows/Linux).
- Basic knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing/switching fundamentals.
- Experience with virtualization platforms: VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Exposure to server hardware (Dell, HPE, Cisco UCS) and storage systems (NetApp, Synology, Dell EMC).
- Familiarity with backup solutions and DR procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred Certifications (Not Mandatory):
- MCSA / MCSE / Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- VMware VCP
