Responsibilities:
- Leading vulnerability analysis and impact assessments, including risk evaluations
- Using industry-standard tools (e.g., Nessus, Tenable, Defender) to identify and prioritise vulnerabilities
- Producing assurance reviews and presenting risk findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Tracking and managing remediation efforts across affected services
- Supporting governance, risk, and compliance processes tied to vulnerability management
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of direct vulnerability management experience (3–5 years in overall security preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools like Nessus, Tenable, and Microsoft Defender
- Desirable certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent (tool-specific certs are a bonus)
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills and analytical thinking
- Clear understanding of the distinction between broader security practices and vulnerability management
- Candidates must be within 1-hour travel distance of Barrow-in-Furness – no relocation assistance is provided
- No direct line reports, but some leadership expectations are tied to the role level
- Unable to consider applicants requiring sponsorship or those not eligible for SC clearance
