As a Director of Network Engineering, you will lead and oversee all operations within the Engineering department, ensuring the development and execution of efficient and cost-effective network solutions across various FTTH markets. This remote position offers the opportunity to architect cutting-edge network infrastructures while building and mentoring a talented engineering team.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop FTTH network architectures and designs in alignment with company standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement market-specific solutions.
  • Evaluate technology and vendor solutions to maintain best-in-class FTTH networks.
  • Negotiate supply and support contracts with vendors to ensure optimal service.
  • Maintain network documentation for quick troubleshooting during outages.
  • Provide tier 2/3 support and manage technical network solutions.
  • Upgrade network hardware and software components as needed.
  • Perform network planning, capacity modeling, and analysis for growth.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including switches and routers.
  • Design, implement, and manage security measures to protect against threats.
  • Monitor and report on overall network performance, taking corrective action as necessary.

Skills/Must Have:

  • Strong experience in Ethernet & IP networking, preferably in telecom.
  • Ability to design large networks with complex technology, balancing functionality, scalability, and cost.
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP networking and MPLS technology, including L2/L3 VPN and traffic engineering.
  • Excellent skills in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Experience with routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
  • Expertise in IP backbone and backhaul design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
  • Solid understanding of Juniper, Calix, Ubiquiti, and Cambium network operating systems.
  • Organizational and mentoring abilities with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in fixed wireless network design and implementation is advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills and a keen learning capability.

Salary:

  • $125k - $150k DOE with a potential 15% Bonus
