IP Network Engineer - Telecommunications

As a Network Engineer at this expanding company, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the national network infrastructure. We're seeking a team player with the flexibility to work off-hours and a passion for tackling complex networking challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day operation and maintenance of all routers and switches.
• Implementation of routing and switching-related projects.
• Performing router and switch OS maintenance and upgrades.
• Monitoring all routers and switches within the network.
• Managing security and access controls for routers and switches.
• Maintaining firewall rules to ensure network security.
• Engaging in network provisioning, deployment, support, and documentation activities.
• Undertaking any other related duties and tasks as assigned.

Skills/Must have:

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2 switching, multicast, and Class of Service.
• Experience with various routing protocols such as MPLS, LDP, RSVP, BGP, OSPF, PIM, etc.
• Familiarity with Junos (knowledge of IOS is a plus).
• Comfort working with UNIX-based operating systems.
• Willingness to perform off-hour maintenance activities as required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clear documentation and diagram creation.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills to address network issues effectively.
